When was the last time that you’ve genuinely said thanks to someone for being part of your life? Was it an hour ago? A week ago? Or was it something that had completely escaped from your mind? Is it something that you find so trivial? Maybe it’s because you know that these people in your life are just here around you, that you don’t find the need to express your appreciation for them. But you don’t know that. Everything is just so uncertain in this world that many events can occur in a single snap of a finger.
Time is fleeting. You see these certain people everyday, converse with them everyday and bond with them everyday. Next thing you know, they’ll disappear and the regret of failing to say the words that you’ve ought to tell them will well up inside you. And yet, the only thing left for you to do is to accept things and move on. Your parents, for example, won’t be with you forever and everyday should be a chance for you to show your gratitude to them. Say thank you for the sacrifices, the love and care that they’ve given to you. Aside from them, your friends are also the people whom you spend most of the hours of your day with. Say thank you to them for being there with you when times are hard, the help that they give you with your academics, and everything else in between.
Kindness is something that this world lacks, and expressing your gratitude to anyone who has done you good is an example. Our existence in this world is too short to hold unnecessary grudges. Acknowledging the people around you doesn’t take more than a minute to do so.
