He also topped the Electronics Technician exam with a score of 92 percent. He truly is a living proof that hard work does pay off, based on his answer from an interview held by varsitarian, he stated that he did not take any course lightly and sacrificed comfort in order to succeed and give back to his parents.
We may learn from his story that though there may be many obstacles in the way, the finish line will always be worth the hardships we go through. Through perseverance we may be able to overcome our limits and rise above our mistakes in order to become wiser in words and actions.
Here are some quotes given by Neil in an interview with the Varsitarian.
“I did not take a single course in college lightly…I believe that building a strong foundation eventually pays off. In my case, it paid off in my graduation and board exam,” - Neil Kenneth Mendoza
“There were [a lot of] sacrifices to be made; most of the time I only had 3 hours of sleep… I even broke down because of mental and physical fatigue,” - Neil Kenneth Mendoza
